Animal Intake Team Member

Duties:
- Records all pertinent data into PetPoint database
- Assures the re-vaccination of all animals admitted to the facility as needed, and administer medications, either orally, nasally, or by injection, according to the prescribed guidelines
- Assures that the Intake Desk is manned during all hous open to the public
- Refers questions about non-routine circumstances to the Shelter Manager
- Receives payments/donations for services rendered, according to a defined schedule, and balances the cash register to the computer record of transactions daily
- Maintains a good working relationship with volunteers at the Shelter
- Euthanizes animals is required
- Assists other staff in holding animals being administered medication or euthanized, and aids in controlling and moving large or unruly animals
- Performs other duties as assigned by Shelter Manager
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work well with staff, volunteers and customers, especially those surrendering pets for euthanizing
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of infection control procedures and safe handling of dogs and cats
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge of animal health and behavior issues
- Demonstrate ability to enter data into a PC database and retrieve periodic reports from same
Compensation: $15.00 per hour
